How does it work?
Create an account
Navigate to the web app and create an account using your institutional email address. We will verify your email to finalise your sign up.
Add or view surplus inventory
Browse available listings and click +Add Listing to add your own surplus reagents or consumables.
Earn & redeem points with vendors
Every reagent or consumable shared earns you points. Points can be used to request listings from fellow scientists and claim discounts, reagents or consumables from vendor partners.

We, like you, are academic scientists frustrated with decreased funding and rising reagent/consumable costs. Every laboratory encounters the same issue, i.e. the need for X but a surplus of Y at a critical time. This can be compounded by restricted/dwindling budgets or supply & delivery backlogs It is our goal to provide the space for researchers to build sharing economy based research networks to further scientific advancement.
Free. Only courier costs are incurred. If you request a reagent or consumable from a user. You will arrange your own delivery costs.
ReagentSmith.io provides a convenient searchable database of surplus reagents and consumables that fellow scientists near you are willing to share. All that is required is for you to connect with the sharer and to pay the courier delivery costs. This, we believe, will serve to decrease research laboratory overheads while at the same time enable research throughput.
Every listing added earns you a point. Points may be accumulated.
Points are used to request listings from fellow scientists and access listed deals from vendors.
